BTS and UNICEF have joined hands to work against violence against children and adolescent across the globe. Through their, music BTS hopes to make the world a better place.

On 30 July 2019, UN International Day of Friendship BTS uploaded a video as a part of UNICEF’s campaign to #ENDviolence in schools. The message of the video is to be kind to each other and help each other with kindness.

According to UNICEF 150 million students, half of the students from the age group of 13 to 15 years report facing “peer-to-peer violence in and around school”.

In the video BTS Answer: Love Myself hit single is used. The video tells us fictional stories about young people who are being bullied and face fear in their school life.

As the video develops we can also see the members, Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, and Jeon Jeongkook gathered around a pool of water which symbolizes the tears of all those young individuals going through violence.

We can also see Jeon Jeongkook wiping the tears of those children and teenagers going through hardship.

As each child who is victims of violence in the fictional stories try to be strong you can see a light connecting BTS and those children as their Answer: Love Myself single is played in the background.

With the lyrics:

Inside of me
There’s still
That awkward part of me but
You’ve shown me I have reasons
I should love myself
(I’m learning how to love myself)
I’ll answer with my breath, my path
The me of yesterday, the me of today, the me of tomorrow
(I’m learning how to love myself)
Without missing a single part, without leaving a single gap, everything, of me

The video captures how BTS has changed the life of many people, and how they want to help others with their music.

The ending message of the campaign video tells us to

Choose respect. Choose support. Choose kindness

With the following method:

  1. Brighten someone’s day with a kind note via online or IRL.
