Obama wants pro-Clinton group investigated

Filed under: Uncategorized — The Bored Blog @ 9:48 pm
By: Jim Kuhnhenn, APBarack Obama's presidential campaign wants federal regulators to investigate fellow Democrats who are backing Hillary Rodham's candidacy, taking intraparty discord to a new level of confrontation. Obama's campaign lawyer, Robert Bauer, filed a complaint Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission, accusing the pro-Clinton American Leadership Project of violating campaign finance laws by running ads against Obama. The group is spending $920,000 for an ad in Indiana question

Making What’s Inconvenient Matter

An Interview with Mark Williams, EVP/Partner at The Martin Agency and Planning Director for the “We Can Solve It” campaign   While many consider the release of Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth to be a turning point regarding consumer awareness about climate change, consumer surveys indicate that much work is still left to be done.    In fact, six months after the movie’s release, an ACNielsen online consumer survey found that North Americans were the least aware of and concerned about glob

Things I Love Thursday- Cranergy

I am not even going to try to pretend that I wasn’t completely skeptical about this energy drink when I was asked to review it for my blog. To be completely honest, I have never tried and energy drink before and tend to think they are a bunch of who-ha. Actually, I am also a bit afraid of them cause I don’t ever want to be on some Red Bull rampage cleaning off my sofa with a vacuum while my little dog stares on in horror (movie reference anyone?). In the interest of full disclosure, you shou

A Fashionable Day

Fashion! Turn to the left Fashion! Turn to the right Oooh, fashion!Just 'cause I had a fun day yesterday, I've decided to share it. I got a chance to spend some time with a new friend of mine, Andrew Gordon. He's a male model working here in the Korean fashion scene. What's unique about him is he's an American who speaks Korean quite well, so it makes it easier for him to navigate the modeling industry here. We met at the last Seoul fashion week. Yesterday evening he was in a runway show for

Iran Crisis on the Way?

This might answer those questions I was asking a few days ago about why the Bush administration is supporting allies of Iran in the Iraqi “government” and drumming up support for an attack on Iran at the same time. Iran out-maneuvered us in the Iraqi elections to get Maliki elected. Brig. Gen. Quassem Suleimani, commander of an elite unit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has been running a massive espionage operation in Iraq for at least a couple of years, according to information

“Stupidest policy ever” contest update

Filed under: Uncategorized — The Bored Blog @ 9:41 pm
Thanks to all for many good entries in the search for the stupidest moment of bi-partisan policy in the last 50 years. The search was of course inspired by this moment's stupidest idea, the John McCain/Hillary Clinton support for a temporary gasoline tax "holiday" during the summer driving season. Update points: - Remember, the 50-year cutoff excludes some otherwise deserving suggestions, like Prohibition, or slavery. - Most popular nominee so far is the mandate for Ethanol use plugged into

Hillary Won’t be Deposed in Campaign Fraud Case Until After the Election

Filed under: Uncategorized — The Bored Blog @ 9:41 pm
I suppose this shouldn’t surprise me, and in fact it doesn’t. Hillary Clinton, who is being sued for campaign fraud by Peter Paul, is going to be deposed in the trial. This trial has been ongoing for five years and it has been delayed until after the election. Figures. While Hillary has claimed that Obama has gotten a free ride in the press (at least until the Reverend Wright controversy), this story has gone virtually unreported.  In case you haven’t heard about this, you can read my previo

Blogging Against Disablism Day Post: Psychophobia 101 Posted on April 30, 2008 by hymes You may not be familiar with the term psychophobia.  You may know it as mentalism or the more general ablism or the more common older term stigma.  But whether you know any of these terms or not, if you live in the United States you have seen psychophobia in action all your life.  I define psychophobia as the fear and hatred of people with psychiatric diagnoses or those assumed or perceived by others as h
